STATUS: Full Time 
CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff, Payband H
SALARY: $33.05/hr to $38.37/hr (35 hrs/week)

Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent provides support to the Controller by ensuring the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department are operating smoothly and efficiently. The successful incumbent will:

  • Assist by compiling various reporting/analysis;
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliation and related required journal entries;
  • Assist with new, more efficient, financial processes and systems (both manual and electronic);
  • Ensure internal financial controls are being adhered to;
  • Provides value-added financial assistance and information to internal clients; and
  • Maintain responsibility for specific functions in the accounts payable, purchasing, banking and general financial areas.

  • 3-year Diploma/ Degree in Accounting or equivalent;
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience in an accounting-related field;
  • Strong computerized system knowledge is required
  • Effective problem-solving skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Thorough knowledge of audit theory, good bookkeeping, and accounting practices;
  • Strong working knowledge of office software including working with spreadsheets and word processing applications; and
  • Ability to provide sound guidance on accounting and budgeting matters to other college staff.

The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal reference check.
