The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking a qualified professional to fill the key role of Executive Assistant and Foundation Associate.
The Organization:
Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is the leading health care provider on the western James Bay coast. WAHA comprises of hospitals in Moose Factory, Fort Albany, and Attawapiskat, with a Health Centre in Moosonee. WAHA also provides regional outpatient programs, as well as Paramedicine services in Moose Factory, Moosonee, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Attawapiskat, and Constance Lake. The span of services, complexity of care needs in the region, and the depth of health integration has made WAHA a leader and a model of health care services in Northern Ontario. WAHA consists of 450 employees, a Physician team, many students, as well as community stakeholders. It is affiliated with Queens University and offers many educational opportunities for current and prospective team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle administrative functions for the Vice President of Corporate Services & CFO and other tasks as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
Schedule and organize virtual and face-to-face meetings with internal and external clients, coordinate executive communication, and facilitate work-related travel itineraries and details.
Prepare reports, draft letters, and create and distribute presentations, directories, and memorandums.
Partake in the coordination of the capital planning process by preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes for various committee meetings.
Communicate and develop a strong relationship with members of the WAHA team, Board of Directors, government officials and stakeholders.
Foundation Related Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, implementing and reviewing fundraising events for the hospital while reporting and communicating foundation activities to various stakeholders.
Maintaining and cultivating third-party stakeholder relationships
Develop and submit funding applications/proposals and supporting documentation
Overseeing and managing social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Qualifications & Experience:
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask to meet Vice President and CFO’s deadlines
Exercise superb judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information and situations
Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and software programs
Post-secondary diploma in business administration or a related discipline is preferred
Previous work experience at an Executive level or other relevant experience providing administrative support
Experience working in a health care and/or fundraising setting is considered an asset
